Restaurant Merlesse

Merlesse is a brand new restaurant located in picturesque Han-sur-Lesse. It offers a fine-dining experience for all. Merlesse is supported by star chef Benoit Dewitte and his brother Bernard.


Less than 100 metres from the Domain of the Caves of Han. To be found on the ground floor of the 4-star Mercure Hotel Han-sur-Lesse.

The brothers opened the restaurant Benoit and Bernard Dewitte in Zingem 20 years ago, in 2012 they achieved a Michelin star together.

In 2018, Benoit Dewitte was number 45 in the list of the world’s fifty best chefs, last year he won the award for ‘vegetable dish of the year’ by Gault&Millau. Now it is time for a new challenge, supporting our team at Merlesse. Benoit also compiles the menu and Bernard provides a customised wine list.
